Perfectly Scarred
Scar | a mark remaining, indicating a wound that was once there. An old wound that has healed.
A scar tells more of one’s story beyond what we see. Scars mark the wounds that a person has been inflicted with. From the outside, it looks like it has closed, mended and healed fine.
Sometimes, we look at certain scars and the same feelings come flooding back. There are feelings attached to the scars you have. Often times we want to forget about them and move forward. But, the scar serves purpose.
Think back on how you got the scar. It may hurt to think about it but God had trusted us with a task, given us the assignment and held us in the palm of His hands throughout the entire obstacle. At the end of that trial, it left us with scars.
These scars are not meant to be forgotten. These scars are meant to be a testament of God’s work in our lives. These are merely testimonies that will reach the highest mountains and the lowest valleys.
Jesus has scars too. Nail-pierced hands, feet, side and head. I’m sure His body was covered from the beatings endured on His way to Calvary. But, amongst other things, these were later used to help Thomas’ unbelief he struggled with.
Deeper than physical scars, we often struggle with wounds of our soul. Betrayal, abandonment, neglect, abuse, unforgiveness, depression, rejection, etc. These are all soul wounds that people never see on the outside.
My scars, your scars, our scars are beauty marks. Choose to embrace and share them. Don’t hide your scars. Your scars have the power to heal people because it testifies of a God who is able!
Our healing doesn’t come as quickly as we’d like, but God is always on time.
You are perfectly scarred, my friend. There is purpose in the scars. Someone is waiting to hear your story✨
In His Love,
Kim
